Taylor Johnson, a local assistant professor, PhD student and addiction counselor, facilitated a conversation with us about different types of addiction as well as how the brain functions in the midst of the addiction cycle.  It was a fascinating discussion that can be listened to here.

During the discussion, Taylor spoke about how process addictions are really intimacy disorders, and that the antidote is vulnerability, even though that may be a tough thing for us to do.   He also spoke about how vulnerability can also be the antidote to shame.  Below is a video and an article if you’d like to dig deeper.
